Sustainability

US Grown Industrial Hemp = Our #1 Ingredient

Why? Because the Wyoming Hemp Company believes that locally grown and processed hemp is the only way to achieve regenerative sustainability — both environmentally and economically. Our localized approach to business minimizes our carbon footprint.  Hemp is naturally regenerative and promotes both community stewardship and sustainability in a number of ways including:

Sequestering Carbon

-Hemp is a carbon-negative crop. It absorbs more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it produces.
-This makes it a powerful tool for combating climate change while providing a way to increase available carbon credits for farmers and businesses.

    Conserving Water

-Hemp requires less water than most other crops, making it a sustainable choice for arid regions like Wyoming.
-Our research campus uses precision agriculture to study ways in which growers can minimize water use.
-We also share practices with other growers through our field days and outreach efforts.

      Increasing Yields

-Hemp is a high-yield crop, producing more fiber per acre than cotton or flax. This makes it a more sustainable option for a variety of products, from paper to clothing to building materials.
-The Wyoming Hemp Company is working with partners to research which industrial hemp varieties are best suited for different products ranging from animal bedding to oil absorbents and construction materials because we believe that regenerative agriculture has to be profitable for farmers and other businesses to be truly sustainable.

Natural Pest, Mold & Disease Control

-Hemp is naturally immune to a number of pests, fungi, mold, mildew, and a wide variety of diseases. This is one of the reasons our line of hemp animal bedding is better for animals, the environment, and their owners!

      Improving Human and Environmental Health

-Research shows that planting hemp is a cost-effective and natural way to capture metals and other toxins from the environment.
-Hemp plants have deep roots and clean the air, soil, and water from hazardous contaminants as it grows. This process is called phytoremediation.
-Hemp is also biodegradable, can grow in a wide variety of ecosystems, and can be used in countless commercial applications.
-The Wyoming Hemp Company advocates for the growth of the industrial hemp industry because it is a crop that can supplement the income of farmers while improving human and environmental health!

      Decreasing Deforestation

-The planet is estimated to lose 19 million acres of forests annually.
-Hemp is a biodegradable, compostable, regenerative crop that grows faster than trees and takes up less space, making it a perfect solution for paper products, clothing, construction materials, and more!
-Growing and processing hemp in places like Wyoming helps reduce deforestation and protect our forests.

      Future-Focused Economic Development

-Hemp creates jobs, businesses, and opportunities in both rural and urban areas while improving soil, air, and water quality.
-We believe that hemp is a crop that can positively shape the future of business and the economy so future generations can enjoy the planet we call home.

      Supporting Communities

-Wyoming Hemp Company is committed to supporting our local community. We partner with local farmers, businesses, and organizations to promote the growth of the hemp industry in Wyoming.
-We also offer internships and volunteer opportunities to help develop the next generation of hemp workers. Our CEO serves as President of the Wyoming Hemp Association to advocate for legislation that supports both environmental sustainability and economic prosperity.
-Every member of our team volunteers in local schools and with civic organizations to help advance our community and its citizens.
-At Wyoming Hemp Company, we're proud to be a leader in sustainable hemp production and processing. We're committed to making a difference for our planet and our people.
